This workshop will provide perspectives on the current economy and business strategy, re-calibrating your goals and resources, and tactics for improving financial position during tough economic times.
This workshop is presented by Mark R. Allio, former Director of the Massachusetts Small Business Development Center & Minority Business Center at UMass Boston, and currently an Independent Business Consultant
Mark will be joined by special guest, Imani McFarlane, Founder of House of Tafari (https://www.tafariwraps.com), a Boston-based designer and maker
of Caribbean and African-themed head wraps and other clothing and accessories.
About Mark Allio: With over 35 years of public, non-profit, and private sector experience as a senior executive, entrepreneur, business advisor, and arts administrator, Mark R. Allio is currently an independent business consultant who works with economic and community development partners such as the Rhode Island Black Business Association (RIBBA). Previously, Mark was Assistant Director of Planning & Economic Development for the City of Central Falls, Director of Workforce Training and Corporate Education for the Community College of Rhode Island’s Center for Workforce and Community Education (CWCE), and Director of the Massachusetts Small Business Development Center & Minority Business Center at UMass Boston. Mark also co-founded two business ventures. He received an MBA from Babson College in Wellesley, MA and a BA from York University (Glendon College) in Toronto, Canada.
